MT. Pleasant Craft Fair

Wumpus Wonder & Sinister Creations will have a table at the Mt. Pleasant Craft Fair in June. So if you live in VA and would like to sell or attend here is the information.

The Mt. Pleasant Craft Fair will be held in the Mt Pleasant Shopping Center parking lot on the corner of Mt Pleasant Rd and Centerville Turnpike in Chesapeake.
Specifically at:: 1464 Mt Pleasant Rd.

The information:

• The fair will be open to the public on June 13th, 2009 at 10 AM. Vendors are welcome to begin setting up at 8:00am and are required to stay for the length of the show until 3:00 pm. Please do not begin packing up early!

• Each space will be 9’ by approximately (at least) 10’. The price for each space is $30. Payment must be in check form and made out to: Cheeky’s. Space will be reserved upon receipt of payment..

• Vendors are required to bring their own tables and chairs. Vendors are responsible for ensuring their tables and other display items will fit into their assigned space. Vendors are welcome to bring tents to put up. Just remember we are setting up on asphalt so they can’t be pounded in:-! Sorry but as we are in the parking lot, there is no spots with electricity available!

• We are planning on having someone go around to vendors and take lunch orders and then distribute them so don’t worry about bringing your lunch! There will be danish and juice provided for breakfast!

• We will have fliers created for you to have to promote the fair. You can either have some mailed to you by checking the box on the application, or pick some up at Cheeky’s. This is a great way to promote your business by putting them up at work, church, childcare, etc.

• Neither Cheeky’s, nor the owner’s of Mt Pleasant Marketplace, are liable for any damages, losses, or injuries while vendors are participating in this show!

Sexual Myths Dispelled

When you where growing up did you ever hear those rumor that if you had sex standing up, if was your first time, if you do jumping jacks after sex, or if you don't orgasm you won't get pregnant. Or how about if you have sex in the water or douching will prevent you from getting pregnant. Now all of these are false you can get pregnant from any/all of them. Thankfully the school I went to had a really great sex ed teacher who would answer any question you had, talk with you about different methods of birth control, the importance of foreplay, there was even an anonymous question box that you could put your questions into and she would answer them the next day. Now there is Sex Health Guru, so that if you are not fortunate enough to have/had a sex ed teacher or with out someone to ask, you can take a look at this site, to try and help dispel some rumors, learn about pregnancy, sex skills, different types of birth control. They have different sections for every topic, which are shown in a video format. Personally I think this site is wonderful, even if you have had sex ed, in case you need to brush up on some of these topics.

Formal Dress & Such

I swear I seem to be having the worst luck or the sewing gods do not want me to complete a project lately. Perhaps it's the pattern I'm using, but it fit me when I got it and I am several sizes larger than my mannequin. Lately nearly every top is coming out to small for my mannequin which is saying something, which means I have to keep going back and altering everything all over again. Anyway the formal dress will not be part of the theme this month and might or might not get professional pictures since it is not going to fit me like I originally planned. I also finally got an MM account, hopefully I will be able to get a wardrobe stylist one as well.

Theme Items & More

So two of my theme items are finished for this month, the formal dress I am working on should be done by the end of the moth. Some time next month my current etsy shop will be closing down so that I can open a new one under my actual website name.

Street Team Theme Items

So this month's theme is Dark Victorian,- I am working on about 2 projects for it, one of which is already finished, and another I am hopefully going to get professional pictures for next month maybe. It's crazy how hard it is to find black stretch velvet and decent lace in a city of over 1 million people. I guess crafting isn't that big here. All of these should hopefully be done within the month/week.
